Inoue PR created the COVID-19 Rapid Response Communications Manual in April 2020 in the midst of the global spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has since been provided free of charge to more than 1,100 companies and local governments in Japan. The manual outlines the basic concepts and procedures for these organizations to collect and disseminate relevant information from a crisis management perspective. The downloaded manual enables them to draft their own response policies as well as to improve communications internally and externally.

The manual also won the prestigious Grand Prix 2020 award of the Public Relations Society of Japan (PRSJ), in recognition of outstanding PR activities in Japan. It was the first time that a project by a PR firm alone had won the award.

Upon accepting the GWA, Takanori Suzuki, President and COO of Inoue PR, commented, “In 2020 Inoue PR celebrated its 50th anniversary. Since our establishment in 1970 we have been committed to providing strategic PR consulting services to clients in Japan and abroad based on our corporate philosophy of ‘Aiming to create a more hopeful, harmonious society through public relations.’ Based on this philosophy, Inoue PR has consistently engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility activities conducted from the unique perspective of a PR firm. The manual was developed based on our firm’s DNA, and I am extremely honored that it has received such high accolades from across the globe.

“The world is facing unprecedentedly difficult circumstances with the spread of COVID-19. To overcome this pandemic and move forward into a new era, the role of public relations, which focuses on building strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders, is becoming increasingly important. With this award and the capabilities and strong drive of our employees, I believe Inoue PR will continue to grow and flourish in the years ahead.”

About IPRA

IPRA was founded in 1955 and is the leading global network for PR professionals. The annual IPRA Golden World Awards initiative, established in 1990, recognizes excellence in public relations practice worldwide in a variety of categories. The 2021 GWA was divided into 37 categories based on the nature of the activity, industry, attribute (such as an agency PR firm) and organization (such as in-house). From these categories, a total of 93 projects were selected as winners by a panel of judges from around the world. The Grand Prix for Excellence, IRPA’s top award, and the Global Contribution Award, which recognizes a campaign with an objective of meeting one of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, have been chosen from among these projects and the winners will be announced in 2021.
